Health

In Chandawe cluster, Malawi, there are about 7,000 residents who face hard time getting public health service (especially related to malaria) because public medical institution is too far away. Therefore, MYI has built Merry Year Health Clinic(hereafter MYHC) in Mtanga village for residents to get malaria treatments at hand. Also, MYHC provides malaria medicine and health check-up for pregnant women and children(0 – 10 y.o.), and runs mobile clinic for those who live far away from MYHC. In 2019, MYHC extended its health service to chronic disease such as respiratory disease(in dry season), diarrhea(for poor water quality), muscle pain(in farming season), and other diseases that have high infection rate in the cluster.

What we do

  • Provide Malaria test / treatment(including medicine support)
  • Operate Mobile Health Clinic
  • Develop/Implement malaria prevention education programs and campaigns (household, school, etc.)
  • Manage high-risk group vulnerable to Malaria(pregnant women and 0-10y.o. children)
  • Enhance capacity of residents, local staffs and community health workers
